Logo Design

Lancaster Abolition Group

Lancaster Abolition Group is a community driven non-profit organization based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The group advocates for marginalized people and strives to enact social and legislative changes which would help to, among other things, reduce police brutality, reduce unnecessary incarceration, reduce poverty & its impacts, and empower minority groups.

The logo features two roses, an iconic symbol of Lancaster County, intertwined to form a chain, broken at the center to symbolize the freeing of marginalized people. The somewhat rough yet sleek and handmade styling of the text and illustration reflects the grassroots nature of the group and their goals.

Tether

The objective of this installment was to provide a rebrand for an existing cryptocurrency. Along with a new logo, a condensed branding guidelines document was created as well as several high-res 3D renders and animations.

Tether (USDT) is a cryptocurrency that is made stable by being pegged to a reserve of fiat currencies. The aim of this project was to rebrand the cryptocurrency.

A feature of Tether is its stability as compared to other well-known cryptocurrencies. To best reflect this, a new logo was designed to resemble a stylized and modern large-ship anchor. Paired with my own typeface “Echolization”, the logo is kept sleek, geometric, and contemporary to reinforce the image of a high-tech and advanced currency of the future.

Logo Animation

The animation below demonstrates an application of the 3D-rendered designs present in the above branding guidelines under section (DYNAMICY). Such an animation has potential uses in splash screens, loading screens, and advertisements.

Ideation

In the early stages of ideation, the symbol of an anchor as a tether was a strong driving force.
Both modern and classic anchors were used in this stage, though the former was selected for use in the final design to best reflect the contemporary and high-tech image of the company.

ECHO & THOR

The logos for ECHO (Empirically Constrained Hydrologic Operation) and THOR (Terrain Height-mapping and Object Reconnaissance) were both designed for existing software packages funded by Power 7 Corporation in Lancaster, PA.

ECHO’s logo incorporates the iconic symbol of Poseidon, the trident, in reference to the software’s water-based application.
THOR’s logo incorporates the symbol of the Norse god Thor, Mjolnir (a hammer), which is paralleled by the commonly used geologist’s hammer.

Lancaster Art Room

The Lancaster Art Room Logo was designed via freelance work for the locally-based business. At the request of the owner, the logo was to reflect the playful and child-centric model of the business, as accomplished through the masked splatters of bold colors present in the design.

Below the logo are initial variations from the early stages of ideation, with the to-be-final design present in the bottom left corner.
